my notifications are wonky ever since i got federated

basically don't seem to be aware of unread state at all. doesn't display number on the icon, and when i go to the page, it shows all the new notifications as if i've already read them.

If you're using the web app and this happens, it'd be awesome to know if you see a request to "xrpc/app.bsky.notification.updateSeen" and whether it's going through or not. I *think* the webapp makes this request when you navigate away from notifications, not on the notifications page itself.

Looks like it fixed itself by signing in through the new PDS...

You signed in directly by entering the PDS? Which client?

Just the plain Bluesky web app.
